Accountabilities / Responsibilities: We are actively hiring for an Registered Nurse (RN) PreOp. Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA. Assess patient’s preoperative status at intervals according to facility or health care organization policies and procedures to include the patient’s cardiovascular system, respiratory system and airway management needs, neurological system, hemodynamic stability, pain and comfort needs, and mental status. Interpret information accurately from various noninvasive and invasive monitors. Describe the underlying pathophysiology of commonly encountered disease processes. Describe the physiology associated with various anesthesia techniques and surgical or procedural interventions. Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care by implementing: Preparing for and protecting patient from injury caused by positioning, thermal sources, and extraneous objects. Communicating the patient’s current status throughout the perianesthesia continuum of care. Protecting the patient from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal sources. Demonstrating safe operation of equipment and machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation. Speaking up with safety concerns acting as the patient’s advocate. Handling specimens according to facility policy and procedures. Adhering to standard precautions including the use of personal protective equipment. Providing acute pain and comfort management as needed. Administering medications safely and correctly by using the 8-rights of safe medication administration. Performing interventions to maintain the integrity of the patient’s wound and tissue perfusion at or above baseline levels. Performing interventions to ensure the patient is at or returned to normothermia at the conclusion of the immediate postoperative period. Providing nursing and appropriate monitoring in accordance with policies and procedures. Performing interventions to protect patient from infection. Managing patient’s other co-morbid conditions as applicable. Managing patient’s fluid as prescribed. Assessing the knowledge level of the patient or designated support person. Providing education regarding the expected psychosocial response, nutritional management, medical management, pain management, wound management, and expected responses to the operative or invasive procedure. Involving patient or designated support person actively in decisions affecting his or her perioperative plan of care and the rehabilitation process. Protecting patient’s rights, dignity, and privacy. Providing age-specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards of practice; and Complying with Universal Protocol and facility site validation and time-out policy. Evaluate the patient’s progress toward attaining outcomes. Transfer care as needed. Provide hand-off report to other teammates that are accurate, concise and pertinent to the patient’s condition and response to care. Delegate tasks according to the state Nurse Practice Act (if applicable), state board of nursing or professional registration requirements, state laws, and job descriptions. Document episode of care completely, accurately, and legibly. Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills with members of the perioperative team and other stakeholders. Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team in planning patient care. Participate in quality review and performance improvement projects. Participate in the performance appraisal process. Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification. Utilities Supervisor – Industrial Waste Control

Description The Utilities Supervisor for Industrial Waste Control oversees the implementation and enforcement of the Industrial Pretreatment Program to protect wastewater treatment processes, personnel, collection systems, and receiving waters to the POTWs. This position supervises staff, ensures regulatory compliance, and coordinates with industrial users to control pollutant discharges in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., EPA and NPDES requirements). Examples of Duties To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required but are not an exhaustive list of what may be required. Supervise and manage the Industrial Waste Control (Pretreatment) Program, including the Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) Program, by directing inspectors, technicians, and administrative staff. Hire, train, supervise, evaluate performance, discipline assigned employees, and establish work schedules, priorities, and safety practices. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pretreatment regulations, including EPA, NCDEQ, NPDES, local sewer use ordinances, and all applicable permit requirements. Administer the industrial pretreatment program by overseeing permitting, inspections, monitoring, and compliance activities for Significant Industrial Users (SIUs) and other regulated facilities. Review and approve industrial discharge permits, reports, enforcement actions, and other regulatory documentation. Direct inspections, sampling, monitoring, laboratory testing, and investigations of industrial facilities, hazardous material discharges, spills, illegal discharges, and environmental violations. Investigate non-compliance events and permit violations; develop corrective action plans and coordinate enforcement actions, including Notices of Violation (NOVs), consent orders, and administrative penalties. Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), program policies, and best management practices (BMPs), and provide technical guidance to staff and industrial users. Monitor regulatory developments; evaluate data and regulatory requirements; conduct research; prepare permit applications, post-permit documentation, and required reports; and coordinate with regulatory agencies. Coordinate with wastewater treatment plant operations to address industrial discharge impacts and maintain compliance with treatment system requirements. Maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation related to industrial users, compliance activities, permits, inspections, and enforcement. Participate in emergency response activities involving spills, hazardous material releases, and illegal discharges to the sanitary sewer system. Represent the Utilities Department and the Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTW) in meetings with regulatory agencies, industrial users, consultants, and the public. Must not have any physical, emotional, or mental impairment to prevent them from riding, driving, or administering patient care in transport vehicles. This work area has cramped space and can be poorly lit. Noise levels are moderate as associated with working in and around emergency vehicles. Requires handling of patients that may have infectious disease, possible exposure to unpleasant conditions and / or handling of contaminated materials or patients. Heavy lifting required, with the assistance of a partner, to load patients, unload patients, and carry equipment. Good physical stamina and endurance are necessary to perform duties. Teammates must maintain fitness standards in accordance with the fitness of duty policy. Must have an intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, and touch. Finger dexterity, good motor, and eye-hand coordination required. Requires good personal hygiene and appropriate conduct. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to include, but not limited to speaking English in good, understandable terms.
