We are currently seeking patient-focused individuals for a Surgery / Bronch Scheduler position in our Pulmonology Department. This position would be located at our 4030 Oaks Professional Drive Burlington Kernodle Clinic location. All candidates must have exceptional customer service, computer experience, medical knowledge, multi-tasking skills and be able to provide a friendly and welcoming environment to our patient population. MA/CCMA strongly preferred. EPIC experience a plus but not required. Schedule would be Monday thru Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 p.m. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Help Nursing staff schedule procedures at Cone. Schedule and verify surgery date and related information such as medical clearance, hospital appointments, and pre-op appointments with the patient verbally and then send confirming information in writing, documenting Epic. Respond timely to patient inquiries for information related to the surgery during the peri-operative period to keep patients informed and relaxed. Do pre-certs for testing Do pre-certs for all medications for office Schedule in timely fashion, while making sure to obtain proper clearances and pre-authorizations as needed Review any discrepancies or omitted data with the provider. Occasionally fills in as MA/CCMA in the department Organizes time and priorities so that assigned activities are completed within designated time frames. Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with internal and external customers, ability to follow through on details of a project through completion, ability to organize and set priorities, knowledge of Pulmonology medical terminology, knowledge of CPT and ICD coding, prior experience in Epic, ability to work under time pressures in busy clinic environment, ability to multi-task with conflicting demands and priorities, ability to pay attention to detail, ability to adapt to change
