*Overview* Join our dynamic team as a Directional Drill Operator and play a vital role in the successful execution of underground utility installation projects. In this energetic position, you will operate specialized directional drilling equipment to precisely install underground utilities such as telecommunications lines. Your expertise in heavy machinery operation, safety procedures, and construction utility work will ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to infrastructure development while honing your skills in construction and equipment operation. *Responsibilities* * Operate directional drilling machinery with precision to ensure accurate underground utility installation according to project specifications. * Conduct routine maintenance and safety checks on construction machinery to guarantee optimal performance. * Utilize utility locating tools and techniques to identify existing underground utilities before drilling begins, preventing damage and ensuring safety compliance. * Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures diligently to maintain a safe work environment for all team members. * Coordinate with project managers and other crew members to plan daily tasks, adhere to schedules, and troubleshoot any operational issues promptly. * Maintain detailed records of project progress logs for accountability and compliance purposes. *Experience* * Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and specifically directional drills. * Strong knowledge of construction utility work and underground utility installation processes. * Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and adherence to all safety protocols during operations. * Prior experience with utility locating techniques using specialized tools or technology is highly desirable. * Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving; ability to operate trucks for transporting equipment as needed. * Mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance routines to troubleshoot minor issues independently. * Construction site experience demonstrating familiarity with safety regulations and efficient project execution within a busy work environment.
