Major Function and Scope: • Lock out trailers • Pick up and handle pallets, boxes, wood moldings and carpet pad safely without damage to product or facility. • Operate portable scanner system to track inventory • Inspect Trailers and Lift Truck • Housekeeping of trailers and dock (clean/sweep as needed) • Work directly with Planning Staff to close loads (drop seals, remove dock plates, and open/close doors) • Ensure all items on every load meet perfect package requirements ensuring no damaged product are shipped • Visually inspect trailer contents and make educated decisions quickly to maximize load factor, minimize damage and maintain stability of products • Pull LTLs to the door • Coordinate employee duties • Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision • Follow all established standard operating procedures • Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary • Perform other tasks assigned by management Type of Experience and Knowledge: • High School Diploma or GED preferred • Ability to work with minimal supervision • Ability to lead and direct others without conflict • 20/40 vision (corrected OK) • Excellent multitasking skills • Lift truck driving aptitude and physical agility to mount/dismount lift truck multiple times daily as demonstrated in job tryout Competencies: • Self motivated and possesses a high level of organizational skills • Safety oriented • Good overall Attendance and Corrective Action record Physical Requirements / Other Pertinent Job Information: (Such as: American with Disabilities Act- ADA requirements for certain hourly positions).
